Unutamam
Unutamam by Nishane is an unisex extrait de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with lavender, rosemary, mint and juniper berry, moves into jasmine, carnation, patchouli, amber and oregano and dries down to castoreum, labdanum, oakmoss and caramel. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
- Rosemary Sharp, camphorous herb. Bracing and clean, borders on medicinal.
- Mint Cold and tingly. Great in small doses, toothpaste in large ones.
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
Heart
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Carnation Spicy, clove-like floral. Old-school and a bit peppery.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Oregano Dry, warm and savoury. Rare in perfume and unmistakable when it appears.
Dry-down
- Castoreum Leathery, smoky and warm. Adds depth and a bit of danger.
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Caramel Burnt sugar. Rich, sticky and unapologetically sweet.
