Green Tea
Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden is an unisex eau de parfum from 1999 in the budget price tier. It opens with lemon, bergamot and mint, moves into green tea, jasmine and carnation and dries down to white musk, oakmoss and amber. Expect around 4 hours of wear, and it projects softly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Mint Cold and tingly. Great in small doses, toothpaste in large ones.
Heart
- Green Tea Dry, slightly bitter, calm. Quiet and very easy to wear.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Carnation Spicy, clove-like floral. Old-school and a bit peppery.
Dry-down
- White Musk Clean, soft, laundry-like. The 'smells like nothing but better' note.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
