Aoud Lagoon by Montale is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with lemon, mandarin and osmanthus, moves into tiare, lotus, patchouli and oud and dries down to leather, oakmoss, vetiver and white musk. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects very strongly.

Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Osmanthus Apricot-and-leather floral. Unusual, warm and very wearable.
Heart
- Tiare Creamy tropical white flower. Suntan lotion, in the best way.
- Lotus Pale, watery flower. Delicate and slightly powdery.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
Dry-down
- Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
- White Musk Clean, soft, laundry-like. The 'smells like nothing but better' note.
