Boucheron pour Femme
Boucheron pour Femme by Boucheron is a feminine-leaning eau de parfum from 1988 in the designer price tier. It opens with orange blossom, mandarin, apricot and basil, moves into tuberose, jasmine, rose and narcissus and dries down to sandalwood, amber, vanilla, musk and oakmoss. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Orange Blossom Sweet, soapy and sunny. Neroli's warmer sibling.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Apricot Warm, jammy stone fruit. Often hiding inside osmanthus.
- Basil Peppery herb with an aniseed lift. Culinary but wearable.
Heart
- Tuberose Creamy, waxy and enormous. The loudest white flower.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Narcissus Green, hay-like and slightly animalic. Strange and beautiful.
Dry-down
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
