Eros Eau de Parfum
Eros Eau de Parfum by Versace is a masculine-leaning eau de parfum from 2020 in the designer price tier. It opens with lemon, mandarin, mint and apple, moves into geranium, clary sage and amberwood and dries down to virginia cedarwood, atlas cedar, vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Mint Cold and tingly. Great in small doses, toothpaste in large ones.
- Apple Crunchy and tart or soft and red, depending on the treatment.
Heart
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Clary Sage Softer, sweeter sage with an ambery undertone. Warm and herbal.
- Amberwood Dry synthetic warmth, sharper than amber. Everywhere in modern masculines.
Dry-down
- Virginia Cedarwood The pencil-shaving one specifically. Dry, sharp and slightly sweet.
- Atlas Cedar Smoother, resinous cedar. Warmer than the Virginia type.
- Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
