Blue Jeans
Blue Jeans by Versace is a masculine-leaning eau de toilette from 1994 in the budget price tier. It opens with bergamot, lemon, lavender and mint, moves into cinnamon, carnation and jasmine and dries down to tonka bean, vanilla, musk and cedarwood. Expect around 5 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
- Mint Cold and tingly. Great in small doses, toothpaste in large ones.
Heart
- Cinnamon Sweet heat. Reads festive, sometimes to a fault.
- Carnation Spicy, clove-like floral. Old-school and a bit peppery.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
Dry-down
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
