Aoud Night
Aoud Night by Montale is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with bergamot, lemon and oud, moves into patchouli and rose and dries down to amber, leather, white musk, guaiac wood and sandalwood. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects very strongly.

Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
Heart
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
Dry-down
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
- White Musk Clean, soft, laundry-like. The 'smells like nothing but better' note.
- Guaiac Wood Smoky, tarry and slightly sweet. Like a bonfire and roses.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
