Escentric 02 by Escentric Molecules is an unisex eau de toilette in the premium price tier. It opens with juniper berry, mandarin, lime and bergamot, moves into ginger, freesia, clary sage, pink pepper and iris and dries down to muscone, ambroxan, vetiver and tonka bean. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects softly.

Opening

Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
Lime Sharper and greener than lemon. Reads a bit tropical, a bit barbershop.
Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.

Heart

Ginger Warm, zesty and slightly soapy. Bridges citrus and spice.
Freesia Crisp, slightly peppery floral. Clean and a bit synthetic in a good way.
Clary Sage Softer, sweeter sage with an ambery undertone. Warm and herbal.
Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.

Dry-down

Muscone Rich, warm, powdery musk. Rounder than the white musks.
Ambroxan Clean, mineral, skin-like warmth. The engine behind most modern 'beast mode' scents.
Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
