Lustre
Lustre by Amouage is an unisex eau de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with cardamom and iris, moves into patchouli, sandalwood and cedarwood and dries down to benzoin, labdanum, vanilla, amber, cypriol and styrax. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.

Opening
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
Heart
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
Dry-down
- Benzoin Sweet balsamic resin. Vanilla-adjacent but drier.
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Cypriol Also called nagarmotha. Smoky, leathery, earthy — a vetiver relative.
- Styrax Smoky, leathery balsam. Slightly rubbery and dark.
