Luxor Oud
Luxor Oud by Memo Paris is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with sweet orange, mandarin and raspberry, moves into cypriol, rose and lily of the valley and dries down to patchouli, styrax, labdanum and oud. Expect around 9 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Sweet Orange Juicy and cheerful. The friendliest citrus there is.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Raspberry Tart, jammy and slightly fuzzy. Very popular in modern sweet scents.
Heart
- Cypriol Also called nagarmotha. Smoky, leathery, earthy — a vetiver relative.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Lily of the Valley Clean, green, dewy floral. Reads as 'fresh laundry' to most people.
Dry-down
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Styrax Smoky, leathery balsam. Slightly rubbery and dark.
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
