Powdery fragrances
Soft, clean, slightly makeup-like. Cosy rather than sharp.
What they smell like
- Aldehydes Fizzy, soapy, slightly waxy. The 'sparkle' at the top of Chanel No. 5.
- Almond Blossom Soft floral with a marzipan edge. Sweet but not gourmand.
- Heliotrope Almond, vanilla and powder. Smells like marzipan and old-fashioned makeup.
- Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
- Makeup Accord Lipstick and compact powder. Nostalgic or cloying, no middle ground.
- Orris Butter The expensive form of iris. Cold, buttery, faintly carrot and violet.
- Orris Root Iris root aged for years. Buttery, powdery, unmistakably refined.
- Powdery Notes Soft, dusty and cosmetic. The feel of face powder more than any one flower.
- Rice Powder Dry, soft and clean. Skin-like and very quiet.
- Talc Baby powder. Comforting, clean and slightly retro.
- Violet Root Earthy and powdery. Drier than violet flower.
