Sixth Floor
Sixth Floor by Xerjoff is an unisex eau de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with ginger, bergamot, blood orange and eucalyptus, moves into orange blossom, damask rose, sambac jasmine, tuberose and narcissus and dries down to amber, patchouli and tobacco. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Ginger Warm, zesty and slightly soapy. Bridges citrus and spice.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Blood Orange Orange with a red-fruit edge. Richer and slightly jammy.
- Eucalyptus Sharp, camphorous, clears the head. Reads as clean more than green.
Heart
- Orange Blossom Sweet, soapy and sunny. Neroli's warmer sibling.
- Damask Rose The rich, jammy, honeyed rose. Deep and slightly wine-like.
- Sambac Jasmine Greener, more tea-like jasmine. Less indolic than grandiflorum.
- Tuberose Creamy, waxy and enormous. The loudest white flower.
- Narcissus Green, hay-like and slightly animalic. Strange and beautiful.
Dry-down
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Tobacco Sweet, dried and honeyed. Nothing like a cigarette.
