La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu
La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu by Lancôme is a feminine-leaning eau de parfum from 2023 in the designer price tier. It opens with fig, blackcurrant, bergamot and pink pepper, moves into damask rose, sambac jasmine and orange blossom and dries down to iris, patchouli and sandalwood. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Fig Green, milky and jammy at once. One of the most interesting fruits in perfume.
- Blackcurrant Tart, dark and slightly catty. Adds bite to florals.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
Heart
- Damask Rose The rich, jammy, honeyed rose. Deep and slightly wine-like.
- Sambac Jasmine Greener, more tea-like jasmine. Less indolic than grandiflorum.
- Orange Blossom Sweet, soapy and sunny. Neroli's warmer sibling.
Dry-down
- Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
