The Sixth
The Sixth by Vyrao is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with juniper berry, angelica and absinthe, moves into fennel, apple, rosemary, peppermint, basil and cypress and dries down to oakwood, oakmoss, patchouli, pine and cedarwood. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
- Angelica Musky, herbal root. Earthy and a bit strange.
- Absinthe Bitter wormwood and anise. Green, boozy and slightly wicked.
Heart
- Fennel Sweet anise with a green bite. Softer than star anise.
- Apple Crunchy and tart or soft and red, depending on the treatment.
- Rosemary Sharp, camphorous herb. Bracing and clean, borders on medicinal.
- Peppermint Icy and sharp. Reads clean but can tip into chewing gum.
- Basil Peppery herb with an aniseed lift. Culinary but wearable.
- Cypress Cool, green, resinous conifer. Sharp and clean.
Dry-down
- Oakwood Dry, toasty barrel wood. Closer to a whisky cask than a forest.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Pine Sappy and bracing. Straightforwardly outdoorsy.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
