Spicebomb Night Vision
Spicebomb Night Vision by Viktor & Rolf is a masculine-leaning eau de toilette from 2019 in the designer price tier. It opens with bergamot, mandarin, grapefruit, green apple, cardamom and black pepper, moves into clary sage, geranium, rosemary and lavender and dries down to almond, tonka bean, patchouli, cedarwood and musk. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Grapefruit Bitter, slightly sweaty citrus. More grown-up than lemon.
- Green Apple Tart, crunchy and sharp. Cleaner and cooler than red apple.
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Black Pepper Dry and prickly. Gives a fragrance grip and a bit of bite.
Heart
- Clary Sage Softer, sweeter sage with an ambery undertone. Warm and herbal.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Rosemary Sharp, camphorous herb. Bracing and clean, borders on medicinal.
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
Dry-down
- Almond Marzipan and cherry-stone. Sweet with a bitter undertone.
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
