Flowerbomb
Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is a feminine-leaning eau de parfum from 2005 in the designer price tier. It opens with bergamot, green tea and osmanthus, moves into jasmine, rose and orchid and dries down to patchouli, vanilla and musk. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects very strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Green Tea Dry, slightly bitter, calm. Quiet and very easy to wear.
- Osmanthus Apricot-and-leather floral. Unusual, warm and very wearable.
Heart
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Orchid Creamy, sweet and slightly synthetic. A modern florals staple.
Dry-down
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
