Chypré Extraordinaire
Chypré Extraordinaire by Roja Parfums is an unisex parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with aldehydes and bergamot, moves into geranium, rose de mai, orange blossom, jasmine, tuberose and ylang-ylang and dries down to clove, cumin, patchouli, oakmoss, cedarwood and sandalwood. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.

Opening
- Aldehydes Fizzy, soapy, slightly waxy. The 'sparkle' at the top of Chanel No. 5.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
Heart
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Rose de Mai Softer, honeyed May rose. Expensive and unmistakably natural.
- Orange Blossom Sweet, soapy and sunny. Neroli's warmer sibling.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Tuberose Creamy, waxy and enormous. The loudest white flower.
- Ylang-Ylang Banana-custard floral. Rich, tropical and slightly rubbery.
Dry-down
- Clove Hot, dry and dental. Powerful — a little goes a long way.
- Cumin Warm, spicy and unmistakably sweaty. Divides rooms.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
