Mana
Mana by Nishane is an unisex extrait de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with cardamom, saffron, geranium and black pepper, moves into rose, castoreum, suede and oud and dries down to labdanum, patchouli, sandalwood, oakmoss, guaiac wood and benzoin. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Saffron Leathery, medicinal and slightly metallic. The signature of modern niche.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Black Pepper Dry and prickly. Gives a fragrance grip and a bit of bite.
Heart
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Castoreum Leathery, smoky and warm. Adds depth and a bit of danger.
- Suede Soft, powdery leather. Much gentler than the real thing.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
Dry-down
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Guaiac Wood Smoky, tarry and slightly sweet. Like a bonfire and roses.
- Benzoin Sweet balsamic resin. Vanilla-adjacent but drier.
