Siesta Drive
Siesta Drive by Navitus Parfums is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with bergamot, lemon, lime, ginger, grapefruit and mandarin, moves into juniper berry, geranium and petitgrain and dries down to lemongrass, vanilla, haitian vetiver and frankincense. Expect around 9 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Lime Sharper and greener than lemon. Reads a bit tropical, a bit barbershop.
- Ginger Warm, zesty and slightly soapy. Bridges citrus and spice.
- Grapefruit Bitter, slightly sweaty citrus. More grown-up than lemon.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
Heart
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Petitgrain Bitter twigs and leaves of the orange tree. Dry and a little green.
Dry-down
- Lemongrass Sharp, grassy lemon. Bright and clean, with a herbal edge.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Haitian Vetiver Cleaner, smokier vetiver with a grapefruit lift. Less earthy than Javan.
- Frankincense Bright, peppery, church-like resin. Lifts and cools a fragrance.
