Habanita
Habanita by Molinard is a feminine-leaning eau de parfum from 1921 in the premium price tier. It opens with bergamot and orange blossom, moves into tobacco, leather and jasmine and dries down to vanilla, oakmoss, labdanum and white musk. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Orange Blossom Sweet, soapy and sunny. Neroli's warmer sibling.
Heart
- Tobacco Sweet, dried and honeyed. Nothing like a cigarette.
- Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
Dry-down
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
- White Musk Clean, soft, laundry-like. The 'smells like nothing but better' note.
