Maahir Legacy
Maahir Legacy by Lattafa is a masculine-leaning eau de parfum from 2023 in the budget price tier. It opens with lime, mint, grapefruit, lavender and pineapple, moves into black pepper, juniper berry, rosemary, geranium and frankincense and dries down to ambroxan, vetiver, oakmoss, tonka bean and cashmeran. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lime Sharper and greener than lemon. Reads a bit tropical, a bit barbershop.
- Mint Cold and tingly. Great in small doses, toothpaste in large ones.
- Grapefruit Bitter, slightly sweaty citrus. More grown-up than lemon.
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
- Pineapple Tangy, boozy and tropical. Loud and hard to hide.
Heart
- Black Pepper Dry and prickly. Gives a fragrance grip and a bit of bite.
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
- Rosemary Sharp, camphorous herb. Bracing and clean, borders on medicinal.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Frankincense Bright, peppery, church-like resin. Lifts and cools a fragrance.
Dry-down
- Ambroxan Clean, mineral, skin-like warmth. The engine behind most modern 'beast mode' scents.
- Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Cashmeran Musky, woody and slightly spicy. Velvety and very persistent.
