Knize Ten
Knize Ten by Knize is a masculine-leaning eau de toilette from 1924 in the premium price tier. It opens with lemon, bergamot and petitgrain, moves into saddle leather, leather and carnation and dries down to castoreum, birch tar and musk. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Petitgrain Bitter twigs and leaves of the orange tree. Dry and a little green.
Heart
- Saddle Leather Worn, oiled and animalic. The heaviest leather there is.
- Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
- Carnation Spicy, clove-like floral. Old-school and a bit peppery.
Dry-down
- Castoreum Leathery, smoky and warm. Adds depth and a bit of danger.
- Birch Tar Smoked, tarry and campfire-like. The classic way to build leather.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
