Sandalwood
Sandalwood by Floris is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with bergamot, rose, cardamom and black pepper, moves into iris and star anise and dries down to sandalwood, patchouli and musk. Expect around 5 hours of wear, and it projects softly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Black Pepper Dry and prickly. Gives a fragrance grip and a bit of bite.
Heart
- Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
- Star Anise Liquorice-like and cool. Sweet but not sugary.
Dry-down
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
