Escentric 05 by Escentric Molecules is an unisex eau de toilette in the premium price tier. It opens with fig, bergamot, sweet orange, bay leaf, rosemary and basil, moves into cypress, freesia, iris and jasmine and dries down to cashmeran, labdanum, musk, ambroxan, mastic and iso e super. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects softly.

Opening

Fig Green, milky and jammy at once. One of the most interesting fruits in perfume.
Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
Sweet Orange Juicy and cheerful. The friendliest citrus there is.
Bay Leaf Warm, aromatic and slightly sweet. The backbone of classic barbershop scents.
Rosemary Sharp, camphorous herb. Bracing and clean, borders on medicinal.
Basil Peppery herb with an aniseed lift. Culinary but wearable.

Heart

Cypress Cool, green, resinous conifer. Sharp and clean.
Freesia Crisp, slightly peppery floral. Clean and a bit synthetic in a good way.
Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.

Dry-down

Cashmeran Musky, woody and slightly spicy. Velvety and very persistent.
Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
Ambroxan Clean, mineral, skin-like warmth. The engine behind most modern 'beast mode' scents.
Mastic Resinous pine-and-lemon. The chew of Greek gum.
Iso E Super Velvety, transparent wood that fades in and out. Half the market runs on it.
