Vesper Reverie
Vesper Reverie by Electimuss is an unisex extrait de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with blackcurrant, mango, peach, green tea, blood orange and star anise, moves into champaca, hibiscus, lily of the valley, sambac jasmine, damask rose and magnolia and dries down to vanilla, sugar, oud, orcanox, amber and sandalwood. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Blackcurrant Tart, dark and slightly catty. Adds bite to florals.
- Mango Thick, sweet and tropical. Creamy rather than sharp.
- Peach Fuzzy, warm and slightly creamy. Soft rather than sharp.
- Green Tea Dry, slightly bitter, calm. Quiet and very easy to wear.
- Blood Orange Orange with a red-fruit edge. Richer and slightly jammy.
- Star Anise Liquorice-like and cool. Sweet but not sugary.
Heart
- Champaca Warm magnolia relative — tea-like, fruity and slightly waxy.
- Hibiscus Tart, lightly fruity petals. More juicy than perfumed.
- Lily of the Valley Clean, green, dewy floral. Reads as 'fresh laundry' to most people.
- Sambac Jasmine Greener, more tea-like jasmine. Less indolic than grandiflorum.
- Damask Rose The rich, jammy, honeyed rose. Deep and slightly wine-like.
- Magnolia Lemony white floral. Bright and clean rather than heavy.
Dry-down
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Sugar Plain sweetness. Usually there to round the edges off something else.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
- Orcanox A modern ambergris molecule. Salty, woody and very long-lasting on skin.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
