Pasha de Cartier
Pasha de Cartier by Cartier is a masculine-leaning eau de toilette from 1992 in the designer price tier. It opens with mint, lavender, anise, coriander and bergamot, moves into sandalwood, patchouli and caraway and dries down to oakmoss, musk and amber. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Mint Cold and tingly. Great in small doses, toothpaste in large ones.
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
- Anise Sweet, liquorice-like seed. Cool and slightly medicinal.
- Coriander Warm seed spice, slightly citrusy. A quiet workhorse.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
Heart
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Caraway Warm, seedy and slightly aniseed. Rye bread in a bottle.
Dry-down
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
