CK Be
CK Be by Calvin Klein is an unisex eau de toilette from 1996 in the budget price tier. It opens with bergamot, mandarin and juniper berry, moves into lavender, magnolia and peach and dries down to white musk, sandalwood and opoponax. Expect around 5 hours of wear, and it projects softly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
Heart
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
- Magnolia Lemony white floral. Bright and clean rather than heavy.
- Peach Fuzzy, warm and slightly creamy. Soft rather than sharp.
Dry-down
- White Musk Clean, soft, laundry-like. The 'smells like nothing but better' note.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
