Quercia
Quercia by Acqua di Parma is an unisex eau de parfum in the premium price tier. It opens with lemon, bergamot, petitgrain and pink pepper, moves into cardamom, geranium and cedarwood and dries down to tonka bean, patchouli and oakmoss. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Petitgrain Bitter twigs and leaves of the orange tree. Dry and a little green.
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
Heart
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
Dry-down
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
Smells like this
- Hermès Bel Ami
- Frédéric Malle Eau de Magnolia
- Nishane Tunisian Fleur d'Oranger
- Dana English Leather
- Nishane B-612
- Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur
