Torino23
Torino23 by Xerjoff is an unisex eau de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with bergamot, cardamom, nutmeg and rose, moves into jasmine, neroli, tuberose and ylang-ylang and dries down to amber, cashmere wood, cedarwood, musk and patchouli. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Nutmeg Warm, woody and slightly sweet. Cosy without being gourmand.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
Heart
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Neroli Distilled orange blossom. Green, soapy and elegant.
- Tuberose Creamy, waxy and enormous. The loudest white flower.
- Ylang-Ylang Banana-custard floral. Rich, tropical and slightly rubbery.
Dry-down
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Cashmere Wood Soft, fuzzy, slightly musky wood. Adds a blurred warmth.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
