Naxos
Naxos by Xerjoff is a masculine-leaning eau de parfum from 2015 in the luxury price tier. It opens with bergamot, lavender and lemon, moves into honey, cinnamon and cashmere wood and dries down to tobacco, tonka bean and vanilla. Expect around 11 hours of wear, and it projects very strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
Heart
- Honey Sweet, waxy and slightly animalic. Can smell dirty in large doses.
- Cinnamon Sweet heat. Reads festive, sometimes to a fault.
- Cashmere Wood Soft, fuzzy, slightly musky wood. Adds a blurred warmth.
Dry-down
- Tobacco Sweet, dried and honeyed. Nothing like a cigarette.
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
