Lunosa
Lunosa by Xerjoff is an unisex eau de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with neroli and cypriol, moves into jasmine, gardenia, sandalwood and tuberose and dries down to tobacco, oud, vetiver, incense and benzoin. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Neroli Distilled orange blossom. Green, soapy and elegant.
- Cypriol Also called nagarmotha. Smoky, leathery, earthy — a vetiver relative.
Heart
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Gardenia Creamy white floral with a mushroomy edge. Lush and old-Hollywood.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Tuberose Creamy, waxy and enormous. The loudest white flower.
Dry-down
- Tobacco Sweet, dried and honeyed. Nothing like a cigarette.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
- Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
- Incense Smoky, dry and meditative. Adds gravity to anything.
- Benzoin Sweet balsamic resin. Vanilla-adjacent but drier.
