Levar del Sole
Levar del Sole by Xerjoff is an unisex eau de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with lemon, apple, bergamot, sweet orange and rose, moves into cardamom, jasmine, lily and violet and dries down to caramel, musk, oakmoss, patchouli, tonka bean and benzoin. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Apple Crunchy and tart or soft and red, depending on the treatment.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Sweet Orange Juicy and cheerful. The friendliest citrus there is.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
Heart
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Lily A big, creamy, slightly spicy white flower. The kind that fills a room.
- Violet Powdery, sweet and a bit retro. Parma Violets in flower form.
Dry-down
- Caramel Burnt sugar. Rich, sticky and unapologetically sweet.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Benzoin Sweet balsamic resin. Vanilla-adjacent but drier.
