Tuscan Leather
Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford is an unisex eau de parfum from 2007 in the luxury price tier. It opens with raspberry, saffron and thyme, moves into leather, jasmine and frankincense and dries down to suede, amber and cedarwood. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects very strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Raspberry Tart, jammy and slightly fuzzy. Very popular in modern sweet scents.
- Saffron Leathery, medicinal and slightly metallic. The signature of modern niche.
- Thyme Dry, sharp kitchen herb. Bracing and slightly antiseptic.
Heart
- Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Frankincense Bright, peppery, church-like resin. Lifts and cools a fragrance.
Dry-down
- Suede Soft, powdery leather. Much gentler than the real thing.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
