Osola
Osola by Tiziana Terenzi is an unisex extrait de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with green tea, black tea, petitgrain, mandarin, lemon and coconut, moves into ylang-ylang, tuberose, orange blossom, cedarwood and almond and dries down to bourbon vanilla, white musk, oakwood and ambergris. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Green Tea Dry, slightly bitter, calm. Quiet and very easy to wear.
- Black Tea Dry, tannic and smoky. More astringent than green tea.
- Petitgrain Bitter twigs and leaves of the orange tree. Dry and a little green.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Coconut Creamy and tropical. Suncream in the best possible way.
Heart
- Ylang-Ylang Banana-custard floral. Rich, tropical and slightly rubbery.
- Tuberose Creamy, waxy and enormous. The loudest white flower.
- Orange Blossom Sweet, soapy and sunny. Neroli's warmer sibling.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
- Almond Marzipan and cherry-stone. Sweet with a bitter undertone.
Dry-down
- Bourbon Vanilla Richer, boozier vanilla. Darker than the standard version.
- White Musk Clean, soft, laundry-like. The 'smells like nothing but better' note.
- Oakwood Dry, toasty barrel wood. Closer to a whisky cask than a forest.
- Ambergris Salty, animal, sun-warmed skin. Marine and musky at once.
