Sel de Vétiver
Sel de Vétiver by The Different Company is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with cardamom and grapefruit, moves into haitian vetiver, patchouli and geranium and dries down to sea salt, iris and ylang-ylang. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Grapefruit Bitter, slightly sweaty citrus. More grown-up than lemon.
Heart
- Haitian Vetiver Cleaner, smokier vetiver with a grapefruit lift. Less earthy than Javan.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
Dry-down
- Sea Salt Mineral and dry. Skin after a day at the beach.
- Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
- Ylang-Ylang Banana-custard floral. Rich, tropical and slightly rubbery.
