360° for Men
360° for Men by Perry Ellis is a masculine-leaning eau de toilette from 1993 in the budget price tier. It opens with bergamot, lemon, mandarin and juniper berry, moves into lavender, geranium, rosemary and nutmeg and dries down to sandalwood, musk, amber and cedarwood. Expect around 6 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
Heart
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Rosemary Sharp, camphorous herb. Bracing and clean, borders on medicinal.
- Nutmeg Warm, woody and slightly sweet. Cosy without being gourmand.
Dry-down
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
