Full Incense

Full Incense by Montale is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with incense, elemi, clove and chamomile, moves into vetiver, aldehydes, cedarwood and patchouli and dries down to incense, amber, labdanum and vanilla. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects very strongly.

Opening

Incense Smoky, dry and meditative. Adds gravity to anything.
Elemi Peppery resin with a lemon-pine lift. Bright and dry.
Clove Hot, dry and dental. Powerful — a little goes a long way.
Chamomile Herbal, apple-like and calming. Quiet and a bit hay-ish.

Heart

Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
Aldehydes Fizzy, soapy, slightly waxy. The 'sparkle' at the top of Chanel No. 5.
Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.

Dry-down

Incense Smoky, dry and meditative. Adds gravity to anything.
Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
