Kintsugi
Kintsugi by Masque Milano is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with bergamot, magnolia and amber, moves into suede, rose de mai and violet and dries down to benzoin, raspberry, patchouli and vanilla. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Magnolia Lemony white floral. Bright and clean rather than heavy.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
Heart
- Suede Soft, powdery leather. Much gentler than the real thing.
- Rose de Mai Softer, honeyed May rose. Expensive and unmistakably natural.
- Violet Powdery, sweet and a bit retro. Parma Violets in flower form.
Dry-down
- Benzoin Sweet balsamic resin. Vanilla-adjacent but drier.
- Raspberry Tart, jammy and slightly fuzzy. Very popular in modern sweet scents.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
