Emeer
Emeer by Lattafa is a masculine-leaning eau de parfum in the budget price tier. It opens with lemon, bergamot, juniper berry and clary sage, moves into cardamom, tea, sandalwood and frankincense and dries down to ambergris, cashmeran, patchouli and cedarwood. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
- Clary Sage Softer, sweeter sage with an ambery undertone. Warm and herbal.
Heart
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Tea Tea with no variety named. Dry, slightly tannic and calm.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Frankincense Bright, peppery, church-like resin. Lifts and cools a fragrance.
Dry-down
- Ambergris Salty, animal, sun-warmed skin. Marine and musky at once.
- Cashmeran Musky, woody and slightly spicy. Velvety and very persistent.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
