Al Dana
Al Dana by Lattafa is an unisex eau de parfum in the budget price tier. It opens with bergamot, lemon, pineapple and lime, moves into jasmine, lily of the valley and frankincense and dries down to patchouli, amber, smoke and musk. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Pineapple Tangy, boozy and tropical. Loud and hard to hide.
- Lime Sharper and greener than lemon. Reads a bit tropical, a bit barbershop.
Heart
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Lily of the Valley Clean, green, dewy floral. Reads as 'fresh laundry' to most people.
- Frankincense Bright, peppery, church-like resin. Lifts and cools a fragrance.
Dry-down
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Smoke Charred and dry. Adds drama fast.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
