Trésor
Trésor by Lancôme is a feminine-leaning eau de parfum from 1990 in the designer price tier. It opens with apricot, peach and lilac, moves into rose, iris and heliotrope and dries down to sandalwood, vanilla, musk and amber. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Apricot Warm, jammy stone fruit. Often hiding inside osmanthus.
- Peach Fuzzy, warm and slightly creamy. Soft rather than sharp.
- Lilac Cool, powdery spring floral. Nostalgic and slightly soapy.
Heart
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
- Heliotrope Almond, vanilla and powder. Smells like marzipan and old-fashioned makeup.
Dry-down
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
