Fusion d'Issey
Fusion d'Issey by Issey Miyake is a masculine-leaning eau de toilette from 2020 in the designer price tier. It opens with coconut, fig and lemon, moves into sandalwood, rosemary, geranium and cardamom and dries down to ambroxan and patchouli. Expect around 6 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Coconut Creamy and tropical. Suncream in the best possible way.
- Fig Green, milky and jammy at once. One of the most interesting fruits in perfume.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
Heart
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Rosemary Sharp, camphorous herb. Bracing and clean, borders on medicinal.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
Dry-down
- Ambroxan Clean, mineral, skin-like warmth. The engine behind most modern 'beast mode' scents.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
Smells like this
- Escentric Molecules Molecule 02
- Louis Vuitton L'Immensité
- Mizensir L'Envers du Paradis
- Kajal Kajal III
- Versace Eros Flame
- Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò Profumo
