Berlin
Berlin by Gallivant is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with grapefruit, clementine, lemon and pink pepper, moves into black pepper and black tea and dries down to haitian vetiver, cedarwood and patchouli. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Grapefruit Bitter, slightly sweaty citrus. More grown-up than lemon.
- Clementine Small, sweet and a bit candied. Very easy to wear.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
Heart
- Black Pepper Dry and prickly. Gives a fragrance grip and a bit of bite.
- Black Tea Dry, tannic and smoky. More astringent than green tea.
Dry-down
- Haitian Vetiver Cleaner, smokier vetiver with a grapefruit lift. Less earthy than Javan.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
