Here Comes The Light
Here Comes The Light by Floraïku is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with saffron, pink pepper, juniper berry, cardamom and bergamot, moves into lily of the valley, nutmeg, raspberry, geranium and jasmine and dries down to oud, vetiver, leather, patchouli and tonka bean. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Saffron Leathery, medicinal and slightly metallic. The signature of modern niche.
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
- Juniper Berry Gin, basically. Piney, dry and bracing.
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
Heart
- Lily of the Valley Clean, green, dewy floral. Reads as 'fresh laundry' to most people.
- Nutmeg Warm, woody and slightly sweet. Cosy without being gourmand.
- Raspberry Tart, jammy and slightly fuzzy. Very popular in modern sweet scents.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
Dry-down
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
- Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
- Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
