Friday Night
Friday Night by Floraïku is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with incense, pink pepper, cinnamon and saffron, moves into cedarwood, black tea, cypriol and leather and dries down to sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, labdanum, musk and suede. Expect around 7 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Incense Smoky, dry and meditative. Adds gravity to anything.
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
- Cinnamon Sweet heat. Reads festive, sometimes to a fault.
- Saffron Leathery, medicinal and slightly metallic. The signature of modern niche.
Heart
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
- Black Tea Dry, tannic and smoky. More astringent than green tea.
- Cypriol Also called nagarmotha. Smoky, leathery, earthy — a vetiver relative.
- Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
Dry-down
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Suede Soft, powdery leather. Much gentler than the real thing.
