Rhodanthe
Rhodanthe by Electimuss is an unisex extrait de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with bergamot, lemon, pear and clove, moves into saffron, violet, raspberry, black tea, bulgarian rose and pink pepper and dries down to oud, amber, cedarwood, musk, vanilla and patchouli. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Pear Crisp, watery and green-sweet. Clean and modern.
- Clove Hot, dry and dental. Powerful — a little goes a long way.
Heart
- Saffron Leathery, medicinal and slightly metallic. The signature of modern niche.
- Violet Powdery, sweet and a bit retro. Parma Violets in flower form.
- Raspberry Tart, jammy and slightly fuzzy. Very popular in modern sweet scents.
- Black Tea Dry, tannic and smoky. More astringent than green tea.
- Bulgarian Rose Fresh, dewy and green. The 'real rose garden' version.
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
Dry-down
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
- Amber Warm, golden and resinous. Not a real material — a blend that glows.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
- Musk Warm, skin-like and slightly sweet. Makes a fragrance feel like you.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
