Moroccan Medjool
Moroccan Medjool by Electimuss is an unisex extrait de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with dates, grapefruit, lemon, cardamom and bergamot, moves into rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, carnation and dates and dries down to cashmere wood, ambergris, oakmoss, vanilla and caramel. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Dates Sticky, jammy dried fruit. The backbone of Middle Eastern gourmands.
- Grapefruit Bitter, slightly sweaty citrus. More grown-up than lemon.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
Heart
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Ylang-Ylang Banana-custard floral. Rich, tropical and slightly rubbery.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Carnation Spicy, clove-like floral. Old-school and a bit peppery.
- Dates Sticky, jammy dried fruit. The backbone of Middle Eastern gourmands.
Dry-down
- Cashmere Wood Soft, fuzzy, slightly musky wood. Adds a blurred warmth.
- Ambergris Salty, animal, sun-warmed skin. Marine and musky at once.
- Oakmoss Damp forest floor. Bitter, green and the backbone of every chypre.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Caramel Burnt sugar. Rich, sticky and unapologetically sweet.
