Amber Aquilaria
Amber Aquilaria by Electimuss is an unisex extrait de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with bergamot, mandarin, peach and cinnamon, moves into rose, cognac, jasmine, neroli and geranium and dries down to ambergris, sandalwood, bourbon vanilla and oud. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Peach Fuzzy, warm and slightly creamy. Soft rather than sharp.
- Cinnamon Sweet heat. Reads festive, sometimes to a fault.
Heart
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
- Cognac Boozy, fruity and warming. Richer and rounder than rum.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Neroli Distilled orange blossom. Green, soapy and elegant.
- Geranium Rosy and minty at once. Reads masculine more often than not.
Dry-down
- Ambergris Salty, animal, sun-warmed skin. Marine and musky at once.
- Sandalwood Creamy, milky wood. Soft and almost edible.
- Bourbon Vanilla Richer, boozier vanilla. Darker than the standard version.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
