Good Girl
Good Girl by Carolina Herrera is a feminine-leaning eau de parfum from 2016 in the designer price tier. It opens with almond, coffee and lemon, moves into tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom and dries down to tonka bean, cocoa, vanilla and patchouli. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects very strongly.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Almond Marzipan and cherry-stone. Sweet with a bitter undertone.
- Coffee Roasted, bitter and dark. Adds edge to sweet fragrances.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
Heart
- Tuberose Creamy, waxy and enormous. The loudest white flower.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Orange Blossom Sweet, soapy and sunny. Neroli's warmer sibling.
Dry-down
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Cocoa Dry, dusty chocolate. Bitter rather than sweet.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
