Rouge Smoking Extrait by BDK Parfums is an unisex extrait de parfum from 2024 in the niche price tier. It opens with mandarin, cherry, almond, pink pepper, bergamot and elemi, moves into milk, tonka bean, peru balsam and labdanum and dries down to saffron, oud, vanilla, rum, benzoin and patchouli. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.

Opening
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Cherry Sweet, syrupy and a bit almondy. Currently everywhere.
- Almond Marzipan and cherry-stone. Sweet with a bitter undertone.
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
- Elemi Peppery resin with a lemon-pine lift. Bright and dry.
Heart
- Milk Soft, lactonic and creamy. Makes everything around it rounder.
- Tonka Bean Almond, hay and vanilla in one. Warm and slightly nutty.
- Peru Balsam Vanilla and cinnamon resin. Deep and syrupy.
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
Dry-down
- Saffron Leathery, medicinal and slightly metallic. The signature of modern niche.
- Oud Resinous, medicinal, barnyard-adjacent wood. The most expensive note in perfumery.
- Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
- Rum Boozy, sweet and warm. Adds a grown-up edge to gourmands.
- Benzoin Sweet balsamic resin. Vanilla-adjacent but drier.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
